Slo Pitch For CF!
The 17th Annual Oldtimers Slopitch Tournament took place over the Civic long weekend at the Garnet Rickard Recreation Complex in Bowmanville. The event is organized by Bob Engley, a friend of the Durham Region Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Chapter, who volunteers his time and efforts in order to raise funds to help find a cure or control for CF. Cystic fibrosis is the most common, fatal, genetic disease affecting young Canadians today. To date, the tournament has raised close to $60,000 to help support the research and clinical care for those living with CF.
