Polar Chili Golf Classic!
It was very, very cold but it didn’t stop over 120 golfers who enjoyed the third annual Polar Chili Golf Classic. The “golf course” was set up behind the Bowmanville High School where the foursomes helped raise money for The Clarington Project (Community Living Oshawa/Clarington). The Clarington Project is an adult day program in Bowmanville. This organization supports people with intellectual disabilities where they are introduced to a variety of activities. Funds raised go toward day-to-day support, supplies, and materials. This was the first year there was no snow! Mayor Abernethy, Gerry Johnston (Bowmanville Hospital Foundation) and Cheri Smith (Community Living Oshawa/ Clarington) all warmed up after with bowls of hot chilli made by noted restaurants in Clarington such as King’s Court Catering, Zante Restaurant, Maddy’s Pub, A Stone’s Throw pub, and Chantrelle. Voted best chili? Congratulations to Maddy’s Pub Bowmanville!!
